Bring Evergreen cargo tracking into your AI.
bexy speaks the Model Context Protocol — an open standard that lets AI assistants call external tools. Connect once and ask Claude, Cursor or any MCP-capable client to track Evergreen shipments and look up route and port transit times with real ocean-freight data. It's free, and the public endpoint needs no account or token.
Why bexy MCP
Free to use
No usage fees and no account needed. Routes, vessels and containers are always open; the tools return Bill of Lading numbers masked, and the token endpoint's unlock tool reveals them with the same monthly unlock allowance as your account on the site.
Public or token
The public endpoint is for MCP clients that connect to a server by its URL alone. A token adds Bill of Lading unlocks, is yours alone and can be revoked instantly from the dashboard.
Carrier-sourced data
The same Evergreen (EGLV) tracking data and route statistics that power the bexy website — straight into your chat.
Tooling
Tools your assistant gets
6 tools on two endpoints. Your AI chooses the right one from your question; unlock-shipment needs a token.
track-shipmentLook up one shipment by Bill of Lading, carrier BL, container number or shipment id — vessel/voyage, full route, every container and its latest status, plus estimated departure and arrival.
search-shipmentsList recent shipments, optionally filtered by origin and destination country (ISO codes), ordered by most recent departure.
get-lane-statsStatistics for a country-to-country trade lane — tracked shipments, estimated transit, actual transit where enough discharges are on record, schedule slip, busiest ports and port pairs — or the lanes from or to one country, busiest first.
get-port-to-port-statsStatistics for a port-to-port route with a bexy page — planned and actual port-to-port transit, schedule slip and planned transshipment.
get-port-statsStatistics for one container port — tracked departures and arrivals, outbound and inbound transit, top destinations, origins and loading ports, and its UN/LOCODE.
unlock-shipment Token only Spend one of your monthly B/L unlock credits to reveal a shipment's Bill of Lading numbers. The same allowance you use on the site, and an unlock is permanent.
Setup
Connect in three steps
Add the server
Point your MCP client at the public endpoint. No account, no token.
Ask your AI
Your assistant can now track shipments and look up lane, port and port-to-port transit times in plain language — using bexy's tracking data.
Add a token for unlocks
Optional: create a personal access token and use the token endpoint, so your assistant can reveal Bill of Lading numbers with your monthly unlocks.
Configuration
Point your client at an endpoint
Use the public endpoint as it is, or the token endpoint with your token as a bearer header.
Public endpoint · no token
https://bexy.io/mcp/publicLimits: up to 30 requests per minute per MCP session and address and 120 requests per minute per address (an IPv6 address counted by its /56), within 1,200 requests per minute for all public use combined.
Token endpoint · bearer token
https://bexy.io/mcp/bexyAuthorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN
Limits: up to 60 requests per minute per account.
Add the server from your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http bexy https://bexy.io/mcp/publicNo token needed. The tools return Bill of Lading numbers masked; use the token endpoint to unlock them.
No MCP client? · plain lookup URL
https://bexy.iohttps://bexy.io/track?number=<B/L or container number>Agents and scripts without MCP can open this URL with an Evergreen (EGLV) Bill of Lading or container number — no token needed. It redirects to the shipment page when bexy already holds that shipment and returns 404 otherwise; it never fetches from Evergreen, so a new Bill of Lading or container number goes through the search on the site.
Response
What comes back
A track-shipment call returns clean, structured JSON — ready for your AI to summarize. Shown abridged, as the public endpoint answers it.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the bexy MCP server?
- A remote Model Context Protocol server with two endpoints. Both give an AI assistant tools to track one shipment by Bill of Lading, carrier Bill of Lading, container number or bexy id; to search recent shipments by origin and destination country; and to read bexy's trade-lane, port and port-to-port route statistics. The token endpoint adds a tool that unlocks a shipment's Bill of Lading numbers. It covers the Evergreen (EGLV) shipments bexy tracks.
- Which AI clients can connect?
- Any MCP client that connects over Streamable HTTP from a desktop app, a command line or a server; a request a web page on another site sends from a visitor's browser is refused. The public endpoint needs only its URL, with no token. The token endpoint needs a client that can send an Authorization header, such as Claude Code, Cursor or Claude Desktop through mcp-remote; the setup snippets at https://bexy.io/mcp cover those three for both endpoints.
- Do I need an account, and does it cost anything?
- No account is needed for the public endpoint, and there are no usage fees. A free bexy account lets you create personal access tokens for the token endpoint, which adds Bill of Lading unlocks. Routes, vessels, containers and dates are always returned in full.
- Are Bill of Lading numbers included in responses?
- The tools return them masked unless the shipment has been unlocked; a Bill of Lading number the assistant looked a shipment up by is echoed back. On the token endpoint an unlock spends one of the account's monthly credits, exactly as on the website, and the server instructs the assistant to ask before spending one. The public endpoint has no unlock tool.
- Can the assistant link back to a shipment?
- Yes. Every shipment in a response carries a tracking_url that opens the same shipment page on bexy, so an assistant can cite it or hand you off to the full page, and a data_as_of date that says how current bexy's record is. A statistics tool's answer for one lane, port or port-to-port route carries that page's URL and the citation line to quote; a list of lanes or ports carries each page's URL.
