Terms of Use
The rules for using bexy: what the data is and is not, accounts and unlock credits, API tokens, acceptable use and liability.
About these terms
These terms govern your use of bexy at https://bexy.io. By using the site you agree to them, and creating an account confirms it. If you do not agree, please do not use bexy.
Independent of Evergreen
bexy is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Evergreen Marine Corp. or any other shipping line. Evergreen, EGLV and the other carrier names and codes on the site belong to their owners and are used only to identify carriers and their documents.
The data and its limits
Shipment details come from carriers' public tracking records — today, Evergreen's only. bexy reads a Bill of Lading's record when it first finds it and, once Evergreen's estimated arrival date on the record (or, when it gives none, the last planned arrival in its routing) has passed, re-checks it in hourly batches until Evergreen reports the shipment at its final destination, or until 30 days after that date. A shipment someone watches for email alerts is also re-checked about every 12 hours until the watch ends, and searching for a shipment re-reads it when bexy last read it 6 hours ago or more, within an hourly limit on such re-reads, unless a status already reports it at its final destination or bexy has taken its final reading of it; otherwise a shipment whose record carries neither date is not re-checked. A tracking page shows the record as bexy last read it, so it can be out of date.
Vessel, port and date details are the carrier's own statements and estimates; bexy does not track vessel positions. Port codes, positions and time zones on port pages are reference data from the UNECE UN/LOCODE list, Wikidata and the IANA time-zone database. Apart from actual transit, which is measured from the container discharges the carrier reports, transit times, counts and other statistics are estimates calculated from the shipments bexy holds, as the methodology explains.
Everything is provided as is. It can be incomplete, delayed or wrong, and it can differ from the carrier's current record. Confirm anything that matters — releasing cargo, paying charges, booking a pickup — with the carrier or your forwarder.
Accounts and unlock credits
You need a free account to reveal masked Bill of Lading numbers and to create API tokens. Give accurate details, keep your password and tokens secret, and tell us if you think someone else is using them. You are responsible for what is done with your account and its tokens.
Each account gets 20 unlock credits per calendar month unless a different allowance is set for it. A credit reveals one shipment's Bill of Lading numbers, that shipment stays unlocked for your account permanently, and unused credits do not carry over to the next month.
API tokens and the MCP server
bexy's MCP server lets AI assistants and other MCP clients use the site's shipment data and statistics. Its public endpoint needs no account or token: its tools serve the shipment records and statistics the site shows a visitor, with Bill of Lading numbers masked, and it accepts up to 30 requests per minute per MCP session and address and 120 requests per minute per address (an IPv6 address counted by its /56), within 1,200 requests per minute for all public use combined.
Personal access tokens let MCP clients use the token endpoint on your behalf. It accepts up to 60 requests per minute per account, and unlocks through it spend the same monthly credits as on the site. You can revoke a token at any time in Settings.
Acceptable use
Search engines and AI crawlers that follow robots.txt are welcome, and so are people and agents reading individual pages or their Markdown versions. Please do not:
- Collect data in bulk
- Systematically download tracking pages or otherwise harvest shipment data by automated means, other than crawling that follows robots.txt or using the MCP server within its limits to look up individual shipments and read the published statistics. Enumerating Bill of Lading or container numbers is not allowed by any means.
- Work around limits
- Exceed or evade rate limits, for example by rotating IP addresses, accounts or MCP sessions, or try to get past the monthly unlock allowance, for example by opening extra accounts.
- Interfere with the service
- Overload, probe or attack bexy, or try to reach data or accounts that are not yours.
- Break the law
- Use bexy for anything unlawful or to infringe anyone's rights.
Availability and changes to the service
bexy is free. Features — including unlock allowances and rate limits — can change or be withdrawn, and the site can be unavailable at times, without notice.
Suspension and closing your account
An account or token that breaks these terms can be suspended, revoked or closed, and access that breaks them can be blocked. You can stop using bexy and delete your account in Settings at any time.
Liability
bexy is provided free of charge and "as is", without any warranty, express or implied, that it is accurate, complete, available or fit for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent the law allows, the operators of bexy will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from using or relying on bexy or its data, including indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or demurrage, detention or storage charges. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited.
Privacy
How bexy handles personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
These terms can be updated. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and using bexy after a change means you accept the updated terms.
